Crows in Northampton County, NC

Elba Crowe Barnes
Abraham Crow, born 1763 in Prince George County, Virginia, is my
ggg-grandfather, From Prince George County the family moved to
Brunswick and when Abraham was a youth they moved into Northampton
County, NC. From there Abraham entered the service for the
Revolution in which he served three terms. He eventually settled in
Rutherford County, North Carolina, and raised a family.
I am asking if anyone doing research in Northampton County has any
connections or documentation relating to a Crow family in
Northampton County where they would have been living around 1780. I
am searching to identify Abraham's parents and any siblings he may
have had. We know that Abraham was close, maybe related to the Alley
family as Abraham served as a substitute for Miles Alley for a term
in the Rev. War. We also believe there is possibly a relationship
with the Isaac Ledbetter family. Any leads that anyone might offer
will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you./Elba

Mabel Allen Boyd

Jim Nesbitt
Folks,
Several months ago, I
Posted a note asking for help finding information about a Mabel
Allen Boyd, nee Allen, who lived just east of Seaboard. I'm told she
was a victim of the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-19, but a death
certificate isn't in county records, according to the clerk. She was
19 at the time of her death, which I'm told was in the fall of 1918.
Census data from 1910 shows a white female, age 10, living in
Seaboard named Mabel A. Allen -- child of Nat and Sarah, who had
been married 27 years at the time. Mabel married Raymond Rochelle
Boyd, dob 9/23/1895, on Dec. 22, 1917, her 18 and he 22. Marriage
license issued same day as marriage. Raymond shows up in 1930 Census
living in Jackson will new wife, Beula, married 5/14/21. I know
Mabel existed, but I don't have proof of her death and am in the
hunt for either a death certificate -- although there doesn't seem
to be one, not uncommon for that time -- and/or a grave site.

The cemetery is in bad shape and most of the names are hard to read.
There are few headstones and are mostly flat gravecovers on the
ground. I took some photos about two years ago and will try to
locate them.
