Francis KING Monument (1880)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wilmington <em>Star<\/em>: The erection of the monument to the late <strong>Dr. J. Francis KING<\/strong>, of this city, in Oakdale Cemetery, heretofore alluded to, has been completed. \u00a0It is of blue granite. On the front panel is a record of the birth, birth place, age and death of Dr. KING, and on the right and left sides appropriate inscriptions, one of which is, &#8220;Erected by His Friends and Patients as a Tribute of Their Respect.&#8221; \u00a0It is a handsome monument, and attests the high esteem in which the deceased was held by his many friends in the community.<\/p>\n<p><em>Source: Raleigh News and Observer. 14 Sep 1880. pg. 3.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wilmington Star: The erection of the monument to the late Dr. J.
