The Wedding — At half past seven on Thursday last the residence of Mrs. Eva DAVIS<\/strong> was thronged with people to escort to the Methodist church Mr. D.B. ZOLLICOFFER<\/strong> and Miss Nannie B. JOYNER<\/strong> who were to be married at 8 o’clock. On arriving at the church, the waiters walked up the two aisles to the strains of a beautiful march played on the organ; and after they were arranged around the pulpit like groups of flowers, the groom came in with Mrs. DAVIS<\/strong> on his arm and was shortly after followed by Mr. H.J. POPE<\/strong> and the bride. She was beautifully and tastefully dressed in white cashmere and satin, with very long full train, and loopings of clematis flowers on the skirt. Pearls ornamented her face and neck. A handsome wall fastened with orange flowers, hung from her brow to the full length of her train enveloping her and reminding one of an “angel in a cloud.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. DAVIS<\/strong> wore black silk with velvet and satin trimmings, cameo jewelry.<\/span>
\n The waiters were Mr. A.C. ZOLLICOFFER<\/strong> and Miss Tempe JOYNER<\/strong> with combination suit of white bunting and silk, diamonds.\u00a0Mr. A. JOYNER<\/strong> and Miss Grace MOSELEY<\/strong> dressed in ashes of roses, bunting silk trimmings, pearls and gold.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. J.O. BURTON<\/strong> and Miss Josie NICHOLLS<\/strong>, white tarlatan and blue silk dress, cameo ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. J.H. GOOCH<\/strong> and Miss Marla LONG<\/strong>, navy blue silk of light blue cashmere and silk, pearls.<\/span><\/p>\n

N.M. LOCKHART<\/strong> and Miss Mamie SHIELDS<\/strong>, white tarlatan, light blue silk and point lace, pearls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. J.T. POPE<\/strong> and Miss Agnes SMALLWOOD,<\/strong> bottle green silk and gold ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

R.S. HALL<\/strong> and Miss Sallie WHITFIELD<\/strong>, white silk grenadine turquoise and pearls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. J.T. GOOCH<\/strong> and Miss Bettie WHITFIELD<\/strong>, ecru bunting blue silk, trimming and gold ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

J.M. FOOTE<\/strong> and Miss Laura POWERS<\/strong>, cream colored bunting, blue silk trimmings, cameo jewelry.<\/span><\/p>\n

A.L. STAINBECK<\/strong> and Miss Sadie MELLHENNY<\/strong>, seal brown cashmere threaded with gold turquoise ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

W.R. SMITH<\/strong>, and Miss Lizzie CAMPBELL<\/strong>, garnet cashmere and coral ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

J.R. WEEKS<\/strong> and Miss Florence SIMMONS,<\/strong> apple green tarlatan, gold ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

L.M. LONG<\/strong> and Miss Emma PARKER<\/strong>, white bunting, silk trimmings, coral jewelry.<\/span><\/p>\n

L.A. FARINHOLT<\/strong> and Miss Emma LYNCH<\/strong>, stone colored cashmere, gold ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

W.L. LONG<\/strong> and Miss Lizzie SMITH<\/strong>, white alpaca, silk trimmings, coral ornaments.<\/span><\/p>\n

The descriptions of the dress refer only to the ladies as we had something better to do than writing about the men.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the impressive marriage ceremony was concluded all returned to Mrs. DAVIS<\/strong>‘ and danced, drank wine, &c., and had a splendid time until late and the wedding was over.<\/span><\/p>\n

In drinking the numerous toasts that were pledged to her, the bride drank from a glass which had been in the family for more than a hundred years and which had been used for the same purpose by every bride on the maternal side of the family for a century.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our best wishes go with the young bride and groom down life’s journey.<\/span><\/p>\n
