{"id":2713,"date":"2014-10-18T01:00:29","date_gmt":"2014-10-18T06:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ncgenweb-data.com\/histnews\/?p=2713"},"modified":"2014-10-18T01:00:29","modified_gmt":"2014-10-18T06:00:29","slug":"robert-reed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncgenweb-data.com\/histnews\/robert-reed\/","title":{"rendered":"REED, Robert &#8211; (d. 1876)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Robert REED<\/strong> died on the 26th day of Oct. 1876 at his residence in Shoal Creek Township, Cherokee county N.C., after a protracted illness of many months, aged 68 years 3 months and 21 days. \u00a0Said deceased was a son of <strong>Samuel REED<\/strong>, who was a soldier in the war of the Revolution of 1776. \u00a0Born in Burke county, NC, \u00a0July 5th 1808. \u00a0He had been a consistant Christian for forty years, and was an orderly member of the Methodist Episcopal church at his death. \u00a0The corpse was escorted to the family graveyard on the old homestead by the relatives, friends and neighbors of the deceased, where religious services was performed by <strong>Rev. A.J.
