Distressing Accident — On yesterday morning (Friday) Mr. Fred R. SIMMONS one of the noblest christian gentlemen we ever knew was accidentally drowned during an attack of epilepsy, while bathing in his room. An appropriate obituary will appear next week. Mr. SIMMONS was a son of Mr. J. Fred SIMMONS formerly of this place, and grandson of our venerable and esteemed friend Capt. James SIMMONS, also nephew to Mr. J.C. SIMMONS. We, with the many friends of the family, deeply sympathize with them, in their affliction.
