DIED — On the 23d inst. at Hillsborough, Miss Elizabeth DUFFY, sister to William DUFFY, Esq., of that place, a young lady of <…> manners and cultivated talents. A funeral sermon was preached on her remains by the Rev. J. CALDWELL.

GILCHRIST, Martha (d. 1800)

DIED – On Sunday the 7th inst., at the seat of Mr. <…>illingworth, near Halifax, Mrs. Martha GILCHRIST, a lady eminently distinguished for her agreeable qualities.  She was sister to the Lady of Governor WILLIAMS, and Willie JONES, Esq., of this place.

DIED — At Newbern, on the 27th ultimo, Mrs. Elizabeth PENDLETON.

RAMCHE, Frederick Dr. (d. 1800)

A few days ago a duel was fought between Dr. Frederick RAMCHE and Capt. BUTLER, both of Edenton, in which the latter was wounded in the thigh, when both parties retired apparently satisfied; but afterwards, Dr. R. went into his shop, and by firing two pilots through his head put a period to his life.
