Issac Spruill Arrested (1898)

Brought Here to Jail – Mr. C.W. DUNN, deputy sheriff of Halifax county, arrested Issac SPRUILL, colored, Tuesday on a warrant issued by his wife, charging him with abandonment.  SPRUILL had been teaching school near Trenton. He ran away to Halifax county, where he was arrested.  Deputy Sheriff DUNN brought SPRUILL to Kinston Wednesday evening and lodged him in the county jail.  He will be tried before Chas. DUNN today.  (page 2)
