POOLE, Theodore W. – (d. 1890)

DIED — Theodore W. POOLE, Esq., at the Yarborough House in Raleigh, on Tuesday, March 4th, 1890.  Mr. POOLE was a resident of Williamston, NC, and in his death the State loses one of its most talented sons.  In 1883-5 Mr. POOLE represented the second District in the Senate, which position he filled with credit to himself and advantage to the Democratic party.  We comingle our sympathies with those of the people of the entire State in the afflictions that has befallen them.

DARDEN, Mary Jane – (d. 1890)

DIED — Mrs. Mary Jane DARDEN, of heart disease, at her home in Martin county on Saturday, March 1st, 1890.  She leaves a husband and several children, to whom we offer our sympathy in their hour of sorrow.

Sadie J. Gurgin Visits

We are glad to see the pleasant face of Miss Sadie J. GURGIN, of Martin county, who is visiting her parents at this place.  We hope her visit will be a long and pleasant one as we are ever pleased to see her in our midst.

Sadie Hardison Visits (1890)

The beautiful Miss Sadie HARDISON of Martin county, after spending several days quite pleasantly with relatives here has returned to her home leaving many sad hearts behind.

FAGAN, Joe (d. 1890)

Mr. Joe FAGAN, a highly respected young farmer of Martin Co., died at his home in that county on Wednesday night after a long and painful illness.

POWELL, (infant) – (d. 1890)

In Martin County, NC, the wife of G.S. POWELL tied her one-year old baby in a chair and left the room.  When she returned she found the chair and child turned over into the fire and the child badly burned. It died in a few hours.
