BURROUGHS, Mill Louisa (d. 1857)

DIED – On the 17th inst., Mill Louisa BURROUGHS, aged 45, daughter of the late David BURROUGHS of Va., an officer of the Revolutionary war.  She was a member of the Protestant Methodist Church and for twenty-five years an exemplary and consistent christian.

WOMACK, Martha (d. 1857)

DIED — In this vicinity, after three days’ illness, on the 13th inst., Mrs. Martha WOMACK, wife of Mr. John WOMACK, aged about 44 years. She left four children to mourn their loss.

MITCHELL, (Mr.) – (d. 1857)

MURDER — We learn that a negro man, Laws, belonging to Mr. FRIES of this place, stabbed a free negro by the name of MITCHELL, at High Point, causing his death. LAWS is confined in jail. The affair originated in a quarrel about some work they were engaged in. – Salem Press.

DIED — In this town, on the 3d inst., John W., son of Rob’t and Susan MITCHELL, aged 5 years and 6 months. The funeral will take place from their residence, on Winslow street, this afternoon at 3 o’clock.
