The Outland-Joyner Cemetery, is located in Eagletown, Northampton Co, NC 3 miles east of Rich Square via Hwy 305. Entrance is from Eagletown subdivision on left from Rich Square off Hwy 305. The cemetery, which contains 605 sq. yds., is located behind the old Roy Joyner homeplace. The heirs of William C. Outland, Cornelius A. Copeland, and Alpheus A. Ward own the cemetery. (See Northampton DB 89/201, 13 Apr. 1891 & DB 90/211, 24 Apr. 1891.)
The earliest burials in the cemetery prior to the cemetery deed in 1891 most likely are the now unmarked graves of:
Rachel Elma Outland (1847-1879)

Abigail Copeland Outland [Ward] (1852-1880)
and her twins
Harriet Cornell Ward (1880-1880)
and Mary Abigail Ward (1880-1880).

The cemetery may contain other unmarked graves prior to 1891. The only marked headstone prior to 1891 is a memorial to:

Edward Borough Outland (1877-1881).

Buried in marked graves the same year the cemetery was deeded were:

Harriet Outland Smith (1853-1891) and her son
Irvin Smith (1890-189l).

Other marked graves include:

William Copeland Outland (1819-1901) and his wife Martha Rogerson Copeland [Outland](1824-1896).
[The parents or grandparents of the interred listed above.]

Jordan P. Smith (18xx-19xx), husband of Harriet Outland Smith, and his son[?] Joseph Smith (1901-1901).

William C. and Martha R. Outlands son,
Elijah Peele Outland (1849-1931) and his wife Mary Elizabeth Outland (1855-1935). Their son Gordon Rogerson Outland (1899-1968), daughter Ada Bell Outland [Blowe] (1884-1967), and grandson Elwood Wright Outland (1924-1924.

William C. Outlands nephew, Cornelius A. Copeland, may have family members buried in now unmarked graves since he was one of the three grantees on the cemetery deed.

The Alfred Godwin Joyner Family owned the land around the cemetery from 1899 to 1982. The following are the marked burials in the cemetery of his family and the Blowe Family. The earliest one is Maggie Clark Blow [sic] (1872-1916), wife of William [H.] Blow. Others are Alfred Godwin Joyner (1871-1950), his wife Margaret Blowe [Joyner] (1875-1953), and their son
Harvey Lee Joyner (1904-1941).

The old bricked grave beside Margaret Blowe Joyner is probably her mother Sallie E. Blowe (1850-1916). Buried nearby is Margarets brother (Sallies son) James Refus Blowe (1880-1960) and, as mentioned above, his wife Ada Bell Outland [Blowe] (1884-1967) and their son Wilfred William Blowe (1911-1931).
